This page explains how CheckLimo earns money and how that does and does not affect what you see on the site.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to make a booking or a purchase, we may receive a commission from the company at the other end. This costs you nothing. The price you pay is the same whether you arrive through one of our links or type the address directly.
Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" attributes, which
is the standard machine readable way of declaring a commercial relationship.
Sponsored placements
Some units on this site are paid placements from companies that provide ground transportation services. They are labeled as sponsored where they appear. A sponsor pays for the placement itself. A sponsor does not pay for, and cannot obtain, a particular editorial opinion, a position in the directory, or the removal of a competitor.
What sponsorship does not affect
- Directory listings. No company can pay to be listed, ranked higher, or removed from the directory. Listings are compiled from public data and ordered by a data confidence signal.
- Editorial content. Our articles, guides, price ranges, and recommendations are written independently. Where we recommend an approach, it is because we think it is right, and we say plainly when a choice depends on your circumstances.
- Tools. The calculators produce the same output regardless of any commercial relationship.
Why we disclose this
United States Federal Trade Commission guidance requires clear disclosure of material connections between a publisher and the products it writes about. We think it is also simply the right way to run a site. If a page contains an affiliate link or a sponsored placement, you should be able to tell.
Editorial independence
We accept commercial relationships. We do not accept editorial control as a condition of them. If a commercial partner asked us to remove an unfavorable observation, change a price range, or reorder the directory, we would decline and end the relationship rather than publish something we do not believe.
